The various characters’ personalities were demarked well and the MC’s conflicting emotions very well done indeed. A sequel, entailing Thomas’s search for the promised land of Fairly’s — I love unusual names– is called for. What is the moral of this story, that we are all machines — some mechanical and some organic — who can live forever in harmony with one another? I’d like to think so.
