The first part was so very sad; the mournful silence of loneliness that the MC feels. In the next part, the character is consumed, and has a purpose, if only very fleeting. The ending is unclear — does he die from a stroke or a heart attack. An unclear ending to a good story is auspicious; it allows the reader to draw her own conclusions and ending. I simply loved this story of loss, redemption and then freedom. Well done, Paul!
