I love sci-fi and had never come across the notion of bio-fueled spacecraft that has been stranded like this. Very original concept, and plays well with the struggle set up with the inhibitor chips. Read it for the second time this week just now and the second read-through was even better. Love it, looking forward to the next.

Brutal and intriguing.
I want to hear about another ship in similar peril where inhibitor chips aren’t a thing. Sacrifice your unconscious and innocent cargo and survive to be court martialed? Sacrifice yourself piece by piece? Murder your copilot to get another 36 hours of fuel?
If there’s more time and space to explore the implications (a full story) I would want to read that!!

Interesting plot. The Captain and crew were motivated by a artificially enhanced loyalty. It makes you wonder how loyal they would have been and how much they would have sacrificed without the chip. A well written story.

Grim and grisly, yet gripping and imaginative. The meat-grinder of a powerplant, and the chip-generated subjective “ghosts,” are nice technological skewers. Nice chilling appetizer for Halloween. Good job, enjoyed it!

Intriguing dystopian concepts: inhibitor chips and bio fuel which accepted human flesh in lieu of other fuel. Story was a little overwhelmed by the introduction of a lot of characters initially, and some of them weren’d fleshed out enough to make them worthwhile. A very interesting idea, might make a good novella.
